When tyres need replacing
When the tread reaches the wear indicator bars moulded into the grooves, when there is a bulge or cut in the sidewall, when a puncture is too close to the shoulder to repair safely, or when the rubber is cracked with age. Check your tyres' date code: rubber hardens over the years even if the tread looks fine.
Uneven wear tells a story
Wear on one edge often points to wheel alignment or worn suspension parts. Wear in the centre or on both edges points to tyre pressures. Fitting new tyres without fixing the cause means the new ones wear the same way, so we check the cause as well.
Getting the right tyre
Use the size, load index and speed rating your car maker specifies. Some cars use run-flat tyres or different sizes front and rear; we match what your car needs.
Common questions
How do I know when my tyres need replacing?
Look for the tread wear indicator bars in the grooves. If the tread is level with them, or the sidewall has a bulge or cut, the tyre needs replacing.
Why are my tyres wearing on one side?
One-sided wear is usually wheel alignment or worn suspension parts. It is worth fixing the cause before fitting new tyres.
Can a punctured tyre be repaired?
Often, if the puncture is small and in the tread area. Punctures in the sidewall or shoulder, or tyres driven flat, should be replaced.
