Engine problems we fix
Oil leaks from gaskets and seals, overheating, misfires, rough idle, loss of power, unusual knocking or rattling, smoke from the exhaust, timing chain noise, and engines that use more oil than they should.
Many of these start small. A leaking gasket or a noisy timing chain is far cheaper to fix early than after it has damaged something else.
What an engine overhaul involves
An overhaul means removing the engine, stripping it to the block and measuring the parts that wear: cylinder bores, pistons and rings, crankshaft journals and bearings, camshafts, valves and the timing set.
Worn parts are replaced or machined, the engine is rebuilt with new gaskets and seals, and it goes back in the car to be tested. Because every part is inspected, an overhaul tells you exactly what state the engine was in.
Repair, overhaul or replace?
Not every tired engine needs a full rebuild. We diagnose first, explain what we found, and lay out the options: a targeted repair, an overhaul, or a replacement engine where that makes more sense for the car's age and value.
Common questions
What are the signs my engine needs an overhaul?
Heavy oil consumption, blue smoke, low compression, knocking from the bottom end and metal in the oil are common signs. A diagnosis confirms whether a repair or a full overhaul is needed.
Do you overhaul engines in-house?
Yes. Engines are removed, stripped, inspected and rebuilt in our own workshop at Eunos Technolink.
Is it worth overhauling an engine instead of replacing it?
Often, if the block and crankshaft are sound and the car is worth keeping. We inspect first and explain the options before any work starts.
